Service Projects

Through service projects, London Christian Elementary School students learn the joy of sharing and the responsibility we all have to help those in need. We try to minister to others in various ways such as singing in nursing homes, collecting food for the homeless, filling Christmas boxes for needy children, and collecting mittens for the those in our own community. We are open to service opportunities which teach our students to serve God with their heart, soul and hands.

Here are a few of the projects we have participated in:

In addition, each year we pick an organization to partner with to raise awareness and support for various needs all around our world. In the past, we worked with Worldwide Christian Schools, supporting a school in the Dominican Republic, raising over $5000!  We also worked with IN Network, raising money for a school library in Ghana. Here at home, we have partnered with local organizations, like Women's Community House and Men's Mission and Rehabilitation Centre. Through these opportunities, the students and parent community have put their faith into action in amazing ways!

2008-2009
Each year, the students and staff of London Christian Elementary School
raise money for worthy organizations that are making a positive impact in our
world.
This year, in connection with our school theme, Sharing God's Grace (1
Peter 2:4), we decided to do things slightly different. Instead of focusing on one local organization, classes chose different local organizations to raise money for. The chosen organizations were: Mission Services of London, Cheshire, GRACE FM, London Food Bank, and Teen Challenge Farm. For the worldwide component of our service project, we decided to support a needy school in Costa Rica.
Together we raised over $2000 in total that will be split between the
above organizations. Thank you for all of your continued support of our school
service projects.

2009-2010
This year, we plan to partner with three organizations, all which have both a local and global component.
Grades JK-2 will be partnering with Christian Blind Mission. The Evans family, a family in our school community, will be traveling to Africa with CBM in September 2009. Dr. Robin Evans, a reconstructive surgeon, will be helping children with physical disabilities there.
Grades 3-5 will be partnering with Compassion Canada, raising money and awareness for the disaster in Haiti.
Grades 6-8 will be learning about and partnering with "Save the Mothers", an organization run by Dr. Jean Chamberlain. Dr. Chamberlain teaches and helps mothers in Africa.
We're excited to serve in these wonderful ways!

Thank you for partnering with the LCES community both locally and world-wide as we seek to be Christ's hands and feet to those around us.
